Help with Emails

When you create an account with us, or join the Nautical Research Guild, we ask for your email address and other personal information.  This information is never shared with third parties, and every effort is taken to keep your information safe, secure, and private.

As an NRG member, you may receive emails from the NRG.  Examples of these emails include:

    • Information about orders you place, including receipts and shipment information.
    • Membership updates, including membership activation information and renewal notices.
    • News and announcements, such as:
        • Details on NRG events
        • New issues of the Nautical Research Journal
        • Passing of noted members
        • Information about bylaw votes and instructions on voting
        • Other news about NRG activities
    • Occasionally, we may send you promotions or offers from NRG partners and sponsors.
    • Information about modeling clubs in your area that are looking for potential new members.

The NRG takes every effort not to clutter your email with too many things, and never sends "spam".    When we send emails on behalf of other organizations (such as our partners or local modeling clubs), we send those emails ourselves - we don't give your contact information to third parties.

Implied Consent and Opting Out

When you join the NRG or purchase a product from us, your relationship with us creates an implied consent to receive occasional emails from us.  We try hard not to abuse that, and only send you emails when it contains important information about your membership, your purchase, or the NRG.

However, we understand that you may prefer to opt-out of receiving emails.  You may do that at any time by changing your email preferences.

Managing Your Email Preferences

You can update your email preferences in three different ways:

If You're Not Receiving Our Emails

If you are not receiving emails from the NRG, there are a few things you can check.

    • Log into your member profile, and verify that your email address is correct.  If you are unable to log in, contact the NRG office.
    • From your member profile, click on Email subscriptions and verify that you are subscribed.  If you have unsubscribed from our emails, you can resubscribe by editing your profile.
    • Check your junk or spam email folder.  Many email services and applications automatically move some messages to a junk folder.  Some services may mistakenly mark NRG emails as junk email.
    • Add the NRG's email address (info@thenauticalresearchguild.org) to your email's address book.  This helps your email service understand that you want to receive emails from us.
