Legacy Giving

For over seven decades, the Nautical Research Guild has served ship model builders and maritime historians with the means to pursue their passion.  Membership dues, sales of products from our store, and countless volunteer hours from members like you only generate about 70% of the revenue needed to operate the Guild. The remainder of our operating revenue comes from investment income and generous donations from our membership.

As all our members know, model ship building is a learning process – from initial efforts that we find less than satisfactory to the phenomenal models found in every issue of our Journal. The Nautical Research Guild is focused on expanding our hobby. Legacy giving is a way you can keep our unique hobby alive for future generations. Please consider NRG in your estate plans. 

FOUR SIMPLE LEGACY GIFTS ORDINARY DONORS CAN MAKE TO THE NAUTICAL RESEARCH GUILD

The key language: Whichever means you choose, be sure and identify the NRG specifically as the beneficiary using our legal name and tax ID. The Nautical Research Guild is an IRS 501(c)(3) approved nonprofit educational organization:

• Nautical Research Guild, Inc.
• Tax ID: 52-6073273

1. Leave a bequest (a gift in the donor’s will or trust) to NRG. A bequest can be a percentage of assets or a simple dollar amount.
   
2. Name NRG as a beneficiary of an insurance policy.
   
3. Name NRG as a beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b) plan.
   
4. Donors that give through donor advised funds can name NRG as the beneficiary – or one of several beneficiaries – of the fund
