The following article by Ronald Thibault details the process of 3D printing cannon barrels. Ron was assisted by Allan Yedlinsky who provided the idea of developing this information, the original 2D drawings and a lot of help and encouragement as the project progresses. STL files are provided for the many distinct types and nationalities of cannon. The article details how to achieve optimal results using a home 3D printer. The files can also be sent to a commercial printer for manufacture. The general information provided can be used for taking any other part from STL file to 3D-printed reality. We thank Ron and Allan for their generous donation of their time and knowledge in developing this information – The NRG Board This article describes the basics of 3D printing, starting with what a 3D drawing (STL) looks like. It describes the basics of 3D printing, including the difference between filament and resin printing. The process of 3D printing at home is discussed in detail including how to rescale drawings with Lychee, the role of supports during printing, print orientation, curing, finishing and troubleshooting. We offer various types of main/common cannon in our library. These have been arranged into folders offering specific types, with numerous sub-types within each download.
