The Merrimack Valley Ship Model Club

     Newburyport, MA

The MVSMC started out as a small group of 6 new model ship builders that wanted more.  We now have over 40 members and are still growing.

The MVSMC membership is open to anyone who has an interest in ships.  We currently have members from Northeastern Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire and Southern Maine.

We are interested in the History, the Design and the Building of Ships.  This is in keeping with the History of Newburyport as a shipbuilding and trade center.

The ships built by the club members are made of wood, plastic or paper, and consist of many styles, such as ships in a bottle, half hulls, plank on frame, solid hulls, 3D modeling and printing, maritime art or any form that is of interest to the member.

We meet on the second Saturday of the month at 8am to about 10am in the lower level of the Unitarian Universalist Church at 26 Pleasant St, Newburyport, MA.

The meetings can also be attended by Zoom.

We also do a Ship Model Show during the last week of July in conjunction with Yankee Homecoming Week in Newburyport.  This event is held at the same location as their meetings and is well attended by members and the public alike.
